Information We Collect
YouTube Speedrun minimizes data collection and only processes what is needed to analyze videos:
- Video IDs: We receive YouTube video IDs to fetch transcripts and analyze content. These are not stored permanently and are only used for caching analysis results.
- Transcript text + timestamps: Sent to our backend and AI providers to generate speed recommendations. We do not store transcripts after analysis.
- Operational metrics: Aggregate request counts and error logs (no user identifiers) to keep the service reliable.
Data Storage
Analysis results are cached for up to 7 days to improve performance. This cache contains:
- Video ID
- Speed change timestamps and recommendations
We do not store personal information, browsing history, or any data that could identify you.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supadata: For extracting video transcripts
- Anthropic Claude / Google Gemini: For AI-powered content analysis
These providers receive transcript text and timestamps only for analysis.
Data Use Limitations
We are committed to responsible data practices:
- No sale or transfer: We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, except as necessary to provide the core video analysis functionality (transcript fetching and AI analysis).
- Single purpose only: We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose of analyzing and adjusting video playback speed.
- No financial use: We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect personal data, there is no personal information to request, modify, or delete. If you have questions about your data, please contact us.
